We are excited to announce that Rooftopia, LLC has been officially certified as a Women-Owned Business Enterprise by the City of Chicago.
This is a major milestone in our company history and we are honored to support the initiatives of the City of Chicago and continue our commitment to hiring a skilled team that represents the diversity of our great city. The certification process took about 15 months to complete and involves an extensive review of a company’s financial status, organizational structure and a site visit to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women. The certification will grant Rooftopia, LLC the WBE status for five years.
Jenn Lassa is the majority business owner/operator of Rooftopia, LLC. She runs the business with her husband, Marcin Matlakowski. In October 2016, Jenn and Marcin were elated and extremely proud to welcome Izabelle to the family!

Chicago’s Minority and Women-Owned Business (M/WBE) Certification Program demonstrates the City’s continued commitment to the success of minority-and women-owned businesses by offering certification opportunities to MBE and WBE firms. Last October, the City of Chicago’s Department of Procurement Services (DPS) announced that Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE) were paid more than $400 million between January 2016 and September 2016.
With this certification, Rooftopia will be seeking new opportunities for expansion, bid on upcoming city projects and continue to support women and minorities in the work place.
